Bundle is a revitalization tool bringing urgent programming to encourage community presence downtown, to secure long term renters of vacant storefronts, and develop resiliency following a three-year Rail and Bridge reconstruction project. Bundle uses grant funds allocated by the Vermont Agency of Transportation to pay property owners a partial rental fee in exchange for creative pop-ups to showcase the possibilities within the physical spaces while also bringing foot traffic to neighboring downtown businesses.

Bundle successfully produced more than 60 events in 11 months with over 3,000 participants and saw two empty storefronts come under contract. These events were in the form of collaborations with neighboring businesses, artist-presented workshops, market opportunities for Vermont’s vast number of home-based artists, farms & entrepreneurs, kids camps, community gatherings for storytelling, health and wellness classes, a youth-led week-long art gallery, business development coaching sessions, reintroducing non-profits needing a boost in visibility, as well as many unique one-offs, all while seeding ideas for future engagement. Middlebury, being the home of Middlebury College and a New England tourist destination, has allowed Bundle to demonstrate its efforts beyond local residents and showcase how a creative community pop-up concept can be an economic driver in other towns with revitalization goals.

Lacewing Productions is focused on building community through the arts and education. Since its launch in 2018 Lacewing has developed two seasonal music series; winter’s At Home and summer’s Lacewing Music Festival.  Each series showcases local musicians and fosters a thriving music scene in Addison County.

In the Spring of 2019 Lacewing Productions launched its enrichment program, Lacewing Kids Camp, for kids between the ages of five and 15 years old. This program nurtures individual creative expression and the collaborative creative experience with activities that take attendees through the design process. It was at Lacewing Kids Camp that the vision for Find Your Wings was first conceptualized.

Currently, Lacewing Productions is working to develop a microcosm of the music industry in a new venture, The Sound Factory. This future musical institution in Middlebury, Vermont will function as an enrichment program, community service, and industry tool to supply amateurs and professionals in the music industry with a single place to create, record, perform, and distribute music. The concept includes a small music venue that invites the community to share in the creative process of making music. The Sound Factory’s multidimensional approach to participation in the music industry aims to dissolve walls between disciplines and help nurture progressive minds. At The Sound Factory, students and industry professionals have the power and freedom to shape their careers for a complex and rapidly changing industry.
